Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 36.437; area: 180,00 km². Settlements:
Zevenbergen (seat), Fijnaart en Heijningen, Klundert, Standdaarbuiten,
Willemstad.
Moerdijk is a merger of the former municipalities of Fijnaart
en Heijningen, Klundert, Standdaarbuiten,
Willemstad,
Zevenbergen and the Moerdijk village part of
Hooge en Lage Zwaluwe (The rest of it is now Drimmelen).
The municipality was first (1 Jan 1997) called Zevenbergen, but was on
1 Apr 1998 changed to Moerdijk after their enormous industrial (sea harbour)
area.
