The coat of arms of Saín Alto was created by the Professor Héctor Almaraz Pacheco in 1998. Behind the shield is a golden eagle, having as supporters columns topped by a lion reading "NOBLE" and "LEAL". At the top is a ribbon reading "PUEBLO"; at the bottom a ribbon in the national colors reading SAIN ALTO. When completed, this signifies the motto "PUEBLO NOBLE Y LEAL" [Noble and Loyal Town]. The upper-left section of the shield depicts a Spaniard and Indian, representing mestizaje. Below, a plough remembering work. To the upper-right, the church of San Sebastian Mártir, the Indian dance, and Saint Sebastian the Martyr tied to a tree. To the lower-left, a cob of corn in its husk, leaves, a head of cattle, bull, and goat by a ploughed field by the river; these remember the basic sources of sustenance. To the lower-right, a map of the State of Zacatecas and an open book for education, remembering social and economic development.
