The council informed me they do not use a municipal flag.

The council informed me their coat of arms was adopted in 1974 for the 400th anniversary of its establishment, being designed by Ramiro Jasso Carbajal; her original design is seen on an obelisk in the Pedro Antonio de los Santos street. It was adopted through a call for submissions held by the Municipal President at the time, Juan Zuñiga Duque (1974-1976). The border of the shield has rolled edges and is brown. Under it is a silver ribbon that reads CHARCAS; under it S.L.P. in black letters. The inner area is a rectangle composed of four quadrants. The upper-left quadrant depicts the old bridge of the town. The upper-right quadrant depicts the San Francisco church for faith. The lower-left section depicts the Monument to Christ the King (or Monument of the Century as it was finished at the end of the 19th century). The lower-right quadrant depicts an observatory recognizing it as a meteorite site.

It is unclear when the original winning design was modified. For the four quadrants (placed inside a shield), they are, from upper-left to upper-right and so on: the San Francisco church for faith; the Monument to Christ the King (or Monument of the Century finished at the end of the 19th century); a crossed pick and shovel for mining; and a sheep for ranching and associated industries. Going through the lower two quadrants is a hill representative of its environment. Under this is a ribbon reading Charcas S.L.P.
