The coat of arms was first presented on 14 May 1991 on its 50th anniversary of becoming a municipality, being designed by Rafael Rico Carrascosa. It was adopted after a request from the Government of the State for all municipalities to have a coat of arms. Above the shield is a war axe from the 13th century (sometimes having the year 1941 over it, when it became a municipality) with ribbons carrying each word of "PEDRO ESCOBEDO" to its sides. At the bottom are two arrowheads as ornaments for the pre-Hispanic times. The shield is divided into three sections, shaped like an arrowhead, and has a yellow border.
In the upper section is, in the background: the Coria Mountains and in the center the Cerro de Enmedio, highest point of the municipality. In front is the image of an hacienda (of white squares in more modern versions), remembering that they gave wealth to the communities; a tall fir is an example of the flora of the region. To the front of this hacienda is a valley, with a ploughed field and a tractor over it for agriculture. In the center is a stone fountain, created by sculptors which gave fame to the municipality. In the lower-left is a cow and three wheels of cheese, one with a slice cut out making reference to cattle-raising for dairy. The lower-right section depicts the shape of the Municipality of Pedro Escobedo.
