No Flag

It appears El Oro does not use a municipal flag.

Coat of Arms

The coat of arms of El Oro was adopted on 20 September 2005, being designed by the teacher Aída Herrera Gómez. The Institute of Culture of the State asked for submissions from people for the selection of the coat of arms of El Oro, in which they served as jurors. The shield is flanked by a Spanish flag to the left and a Mexican one to the right, a reminder of its history. At the top is a bald eagle and Mexican eagle together for the conflicts and unity. An Indian man holds the shield up at the bottom and is kneeling on a ribbon reading El Oro. The border depicts Ionic columns. As for the inner area, the upper-left depicts a cattle head for the cattle-raising industry, the upper-right a building and a scene with a cactus on a book for its history, the middle-left an image of the church of Our Lady of Mercy for faith, to the right of this an old building, to the lower-left a minecart full of gold at a mine's entrance for mining, and to the right of this a cob of corn in its husk for agriculture
