Flag of Tinjan

The symbols of Tinjan are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Tinjan, adopted on 28 July 1995 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 19 September 1995 in the Town of Pažin official gazette Službene novine Grada Pažina, No. 10 (text).

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag (photo) is described in Article 7 of the Decision:

The flag of the Municipality of Tinjan is rectangular in shape, coloured blue, in ratio of length and width 2:1, just as the state flag, and it is made of cotton or polyester material.
In the middle of the flag, at the crossing point of the diagonals, there is the coat of arms of the Municipality of Tinjan as described in Article 4 of this Decision. The coat of arms measures 2/3 of the flag's height and it is edged with an ornamental ribbon coloured golden.

The coat of arms is described in Article 4 of the Decision:

The coat of arms of the Municipality of Tinjan has the shape of a stylized, triangular, heart-shaped shield with light blue field. In the bottom part of the shield, on a green base, there is a wall coloured silver (white), above its central part a three-floored tower is raising, also coloured silver (white). The roof crenellations of the tower point downwards. At each floor of the tower on the sides (symmetrically) there are two black windows, and at the second floor in the centre of the tower, there are black doors with a semicircular arch.

This is based on the historical coat of arms. There are no embattlements on the tower but consoles.
