Schkeuditz Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, in base an inescutcheon Or, parted by a cross Sable, issuant from inescutcheon a beheaded saint, dressed Argent, holding his head nimbed Or on top of a book Argent.
Meaning:
The arms are based on the oldest known city seal from the 16th century. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Bishopric of Merseburg, local ruler with interruptions since the 10th century until 1561, when the city was acquired by the Electorate of Sachsen. The saint is St. Alban, who was beheaded in 406 in Mainz. He is also the local patron saint.
