Reichenbach Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, issuant from base wavy (Azure) a castle Or masoned Sable with port Gules, windows Sable and two embattled narrowing towers, between them an inescucheon parted per fess, above Gules and below parted per pale of Argent and Sable; shield crested by a mural crown Or masoned Sable with three embattled towers and a port Maron.
The oldest city seal only displayed the inescutcheon, the family arms of the Lords of Gersdorf, who had been manorial lords of the city from 1380 until the 19th century with short interruptions. The castle was added to the arms in 1901. The tinctures blue and yellow are those of Oberlausitz (Upper Lusatia). The base wavy is canting, representing the suffix "-bach", i.e. creek.

The banner probably is used without approval. The arms were approved in 1901.
