Emtmannsberg Coat of Arms

Shield quartered, 1st and 4th quarter Argent a bend Sable, 2nd quarter Azure a wolf's head Or tongued Gules, 3rd quarter Sable a cross moline Argent, over all in centre an inescutcheon Azure charged with an embowed pile Argent.
Meaning:
The inescutcheons display the arms of the Lords of Künnsberg, who had been in service of the Dukes of Merania from the Andechs kin. Their ancestral seat Altenküünsberg is located just a few miles south of Emtmannsberg. The black bend and the cross moline are taken from the family arms of the Lords of Stein, who held the patronage over the village since 1604 and the high level cognisance since 1660. The wulf's head is taken from the arms of the Lords of Pullenreuth, who gained a third of Birk village as a fiefdom of the Burgraves of Nürnberg. As the Stein family died out in 1703 the village was given back to the Margraviate of Bayreuth.
