Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (website) was established in 1997 in Barcelona.
The FUNIBER academic and professional network involves more than 60
universities and other educational institutes, foundations,
international organizations and private organizations in Europe, USA,
and Latin America.
FUNIBER has seats in Europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal), Latin America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican
Republican, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela), North America
(Puerto Rico, USA), Asia (China), and Africa (Angola, Cameroon,
Côte-d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal).
FUNIBER has its origins in experiences and university developments in
the area of cooperation and development carried out within the framework
of UNHWIN-UNESCO Chairs and Networks and European Community Programs.
FUNIBER is guided by the conclusions present in the World Declaration on
Higher Education in the XXI Century: Vision and Action (UNESCO, Paris,
1998); a proclamation in which the need for a multicultural education
based on quality, pertinence and solidarity in cooperation through
college networks.
FUNIBER has three main tasks:
- to foster the establishment of inter-university programs offering dual
degrees;
- to foster the establishment of international cooperation projects;
- to offer education and support for communication and knowledge
management to companies and universities (for instance, models of
strategic planning and corporate systems and portals using information
technology).
The flag of FUNIBER (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo) is white with the foundation's logo.
