Remarks: Hardcover.

The New York Times has a review of The Confederate Battle Flag: America’s Most Embattled Emblem. The author is John M. Coski, historian at the Museum of the Confederacy, and the reviewer is Diane McWhorter, a historian of the civil-rights movement. The book and the review corretly distinguish the CBF from the S&B, much to my relief, and correctly place the CBF’s usage as an anti-black emblem in the mid-20th century (1948 and the “Dixiecrats”, apparently.).
