Pietrokarol Santangelo, 17 May 2024
The flag was adopted on August 24, 2010. Its description according to the
municipal government is: "Quartered by a white cross at a third of the flag's
length, in yellow and green, the flag has a green medlar at the top of the hoist
side, a yellow bear claw at the bottom, and a yellow lime leaf at the top of the
fly.” The symbols appear to be taken from the coats of arms of the former
municipalities which make up Hof van Twente, including: medlar from
Goor, bear claw from
Diepenheim, and linden leaf from
Delden.
Daniel Rentería, 17 May 2024
Description: Azure two erased linden-trees or and in an enlarged inescutcheon
gules a cross argent with in the first and fourth quarter a medlar-flower
argent barbed vert, and in the second and third quarter a bear's paw or;
the shield is surmontée of a crown or of five leaves.
The coat of arms is derived from the municipal arms of the five former municipalities.
The arms of Goor (red with a white cross with 4 medlar-flowers) are most
prominent, as it was the most populous; its central place reflects its
geographical position in the new municipality. The bear's paws are from
Diepenheim. The municipal arms of Ambt Delden, Markelo and Stad Delden
show all one or more trees, while the arms of Markelo shows also an inescutcheon.
The golden crown is derived from the arms of Stad Delden, Goor and Diepenheim.
