In an email, which also includes a photo, from the township clerk,

"The colors represent the sky, water, sand, and forest that surrounds our Township.

Glen Arbor Township, Michigan, selected an official township flag following a competition, which flies outside the township office (but is not yet up for the season)

The design resulted from a submission in 2014, with local officials emphasizing its role in representing the community. The township, located within Leelanau County, often uses local imagery on promotional items."
