The municipality of Peraleda de San Román (292 inhabitants in 2017 vs. 1,577 in 1950; 6,200 ha) is located 140 km north-east of A HREF="es-cc-cc.html">Cáceres and 30 km south-east of Navalmoral de la Mata. In 1965, Peraleda de San Román incorporated a part of the territory of Talavera la Vieja, which had been suppressed after the establishment of the Valdecañas dam

he flag of Peraleda de San Román, adopted on 2 February 2001 by the Municipal Council and validated on 25 June 2002 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, is prescribed by an Order issued on 5 March 2003 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 18 March 2003 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 33, pp. 4,174-4,175 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, in proportions 2:3. Vertically divided red at hoist and white at fly, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms.

The coat of arms of Peraleda de San Román, adopted on 2 February 2001 by the Municipal Council and validated on 25 June 2002 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, is prescribed by an Order issued on 13 January 2003 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 11 February 2003 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 18, pp. 1,867-1,868 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Argent a semy of pear trees vert fructed or a chief gules an abbot's crozier or a shroud argent in bend. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
