Introduction

Benissa (Spanish: Benisa) is a municipality in the comarca of Marina Alta in the Valencian Community, Spain. (69,71 km² and 13.140 hab., 2008.) In the province of Alicante, there are several municipalities that have the Aragonese colours (four horizontal red stripes on a yellow background) with the municipal CoA in the center.
