Presentation of Kalecik

The municipality of Kalecik (13,648 inhabitants in 2012, 8,730 in the town proper; 13,405 ha) is located north-east of Ankara. The town is the namesake of the Kalecik Karası grape variety and wine (presentation).

Flag of Kalecik

The flag of Kalecik (photo) is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem of the municipality features a stylized representation of the castle of Kalecik (photo), built on a cone-shaped hill close to the modern town. The hill connects to a ridge south-west in the mountains that is high above the plain that has been formed by river Kizilirmak (Red River).
