The Band

Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians

Location: Eastern Riverside County, near the towns of San Jacinto and Gillman Hot Springs, in the lush valley in the shadow of the mighty Mount San Jacinto (over 10,000 feet) Population: @ 522 (on the Reservation) Chairman: Robert Salgado (2006-)

Owners of the very nice golf course, a country club and a large, tent-like casino with spacious lounge where one can sip bourbon & coke or the boilermakers while listening to the bands playing an ancient rock'n'roll and watching dancing women (strangely, only a few guys enter the dancing floor). In the back, there is a well-appointed Sage Room where some people play the machines and tables in the healthy atmosphere free of the tobacco smoke. There is even a nice bar where one can drink but not smoke.
