Kappa Sigma

Kappa Sigma was formed at the University of Virginia in 1869, although it claims a lineage to the University of Bologna in 1400. The flag is a vertical tricolor, red, white, and green, with the fraternity coat of arms on the center: gules on a bend sinister vert fimbriated or five mullets palewise argent, in chief a crescent of the same.

Another fraternity at Arkansas Tech is Kappa Sigma www.kappasigma.org/. Joe's image is reversed from what was used in recruiting materials (and also a few Kappa Sigma flags I was able to look at on campus). The red is next to the hoist, then the green at the fly. The middle of the flag is correct. The arrangement that shown might have been true in the past, as shown by a drawing of a flag that is green, white and red with the letters Kappa and Sigma in black (post 1965 due to the use of the Maple Leaf flag). The only thing I can really add right now is a corrected drawing.

The description doesn't match the image. Some flag makers do indeed offer it as green, white, red. The leader on their own website shows a map of Kappa Sigma County using GWR, and the Kappa Sigma Flag Football 2008 Facebook page does as well.

I would not be surprised if they took our incorrect image and used it for the images on Facebook. The old website old.kappasigma.org has both flags and banners.
