Description of the flag

A red flag, with narrow blue borders at top and bottom. Along the hoist are a narrow blue stripe and a very narrow white stripe. On the red area are 7 light blue leaves, of different species, a dark blue ring bearing the words Education Industry Recreation. The website at www.ci.lexington.tn.us/flag.htm tells us the "design is by Judy Duke for the City of Lexington, July 2003".
Valentin Poposki, 14 October 2005

Judy Duke uses leaves to represent each of the seven lakes in our area. The beech leaf in the middle represents our largest lake, Beech Lake, located in Lexington. Education, Industry, and Recreation are placed on the oval to represent our three primary strengths.
