On the lighter side, Councilman Robert Wilson, seventh ward, who is also business manager for the Gardner Guards drum and bugle corps, showed fellow-councilmen a design for a borough flag for which he asked approval for adoption. he explained that the Guards are planning an 8-flag color guyard next season and the only missing flag is a borough flag. "So, the Guards got busy and with some help, designed one," he said. Council relished the opportunity to approve the flag's design unanimously.
