Description of the flag

The flag of the Hopewell Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, has a stripe on the hoist, and the rest of the flag is divided in four fields, and a circle in the center were all 4 fields are intercepted. The stripe is blue with "HOPEWELL" in white. The circle is blue with "1812 / 1976" in white. Upper hoist quarter represents Industry and is white with red symbols (digger and shovel), upper fly quarter represents Liberty and is red with white Bell of Liberty, lower hoist quarter represents Education and is red with white lamp, and the lower hoist quarter represents Friendship is white with red hands shaking. 1812 is the year that township was formed and 1976 is the Bicentennial year of the Nation. Designers are Tammy Olson, Natalie Jugan, Maria Conti, Saral Veights, Joe Freeman, Jeff Yanyecic, and Melissa Bright - all memebers of the Fifth grade - Room 2 of the Hopewell Elementary School. Flag was adopted om 27.10.1975 and the first flag was handmade by Mrs. Jean O'Neill.

The image shows a white flag with two yellow ribbons proclaiming the name and event, and across the middle a yellow star, a leafy branch, a yellow-shadowed map of the township with a small pile of apples on it, a grass stalk bearing a perched eagle, and a second yellow star.
