Description of the flag

A white flag with the city logo on it. The logo consists of a large letter J with a yellow ribbon tied on it, and extending toward the fly a stylized sunrise scene. Above arched in large capital letters is the town's name, and below some affiliations. The image above is redrawn from an original at www.usmc.mil/marinelink/image1.nsf/lookup/2005228113131?opendocument

It is nice to see a city flag which clearly identifies the two major US military installations located within its boundaries. Jacksonville is one of the three 'Homes' of the United States Marine Corps, the others being Quantico, Virginia, and San Diego, California.
