Back in 2002, the Iowa State Association of Counties website hosted an account of each county's history, signed by its County Recorder, and illustrated with a black and white flag image. It is not clear whether these flag images were provided by the county administration or not.

Archived copies of the pages about Lucas County are still at*/ and*/ It is a ~3:5 light (white?) flag with lettering and a large emblem. The lettering reads "Lucas County" in bold serif letters under a line-drawn depiction of the county courthouse, seen from the tower corner (,_Iowa_Courthouse.jpg). This building is located in the county seat, Chariton.
