A similar flag was already shown in National
Geographic (1917) [gmc17], but with a white orle.
Flaggenbuch (1926) [d9e26] shows the same flag, but in unsual proportions, 1:2. The crescent and star are quite different frome those used for the national and presidential flags in the same source. This was long before technical specifications were established for the flag (1936).

Other sources (Album des Pavillons [pay00], Znamierowski [zna99] and Pedersen (1971) [ped71]) show the flag with the white orle placed closer to the center of the flag.

The flag of the customs inspection is rectangular (2:3), horizontally divided red-white, with a thick green border.

Album des Pavillons [pay00] and Flaggenbuch (1939) [neu92] show the green border as wide as any of the stripes, so that overall proportions are (1/1/1/1):(1/4/1).
