The flag of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) comes in two versions. One
with a red field, and one with a white field, both charged with the corporate
identity of the university comprising the University Coat-of-Arms on the left
and the text "Nanyang Technological University" in all capital letters appearing
on three lines.
On the white field version of the flag, the colour for the respective word of the university title is red (Nanyang), blue (Technological), and red (University). On the red field version of the flag, the university title is white throughout.

Nanyang Technological University was established in July 1991 and adopted the
coat of arms of the predecessor establishment, Nanyang Technological Institute,
which was granted in 1982. The blazon of the arms is:
"Argent a lion passant guardant proper on a chief embattled gules a cog-wheel between two conventional representations of an atom argent".
Letters patent and accompanying description can be seen at http://www.ntu.edu.sg/AboutNTU/ntuidentity/Pages/CoatofArms.aspx. The charges represent the three original schools of Nanyang Technological Institute: School of Civil and Structural Engineering (the embattled chief), School of School of Mechanical and Production Engineering (cog wheel - and representing the fields of engineering and technology in general), School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (the atomic symbol). The lion guardant proper is also a feature of the coat of arms of the National University of Singapore as mentioned before representing the close ties between Nanyang Technological Institute and National University of Singapore.
