About the Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain dark green field.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent, a willow tree (Latin: salix canariensis) Proper on top of hill of pebbles Argent, base wavy of Azure and Argent. Mural crown with three visible towers and white scroll reading "SEIXAL + PORTO MONIZ" "" (village rank)
The hill of pebbles (Portuguese: seixo) probably is a canting element whilst the base is alluding to a local creek.
