Shield Or, a bar wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent, in chief a lyre Gules flanked by two branches of blackthorn Vert fruited Gules, in base a donkey passant Proper carrying a basket with cherry tree branches. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ABRUNHEIRA - MONTEMOR-O-VELHO".
Meaning:
The blackthorn (Port.: abrunheira) branches are canting. The lyre is representing the Filarmónica de Abrunheira. The base wavy refers to the location connected with the Mondego River. Donkey and cherries are representing agriculture, especially the local cherry orchards.

Meaning:
Pickaxe and mallet probably are symbolizing mining. The base wavy is representing Mondego River.
