Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Or a mount issuant Vert, on central chief point a huert, i.e. a disc Azure, charged with a radiant sun Or with face; beneath Azure two bars wavy Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILA DE SOUSELO".

Symbols not published in Diário da República nor approved by Comissão de Heráldica da Associação dos Arqueólogos Portugueses (CHAAP), as partitions of the shield are not allowed by law (problem could easily be solved by changing one part from blue to green and removing of the line of partition).
