The arms are Gules two fern fronds Argent with their stems per saltire and flanking a coronet Or garnished Sable in chief and in base a plough Or garnished Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "REGUENGO DO FETAL".
The ferns are symbolizing the abundance of that species in the region and they are a canting element, because "reguengo do fetal" means "ferngrove crownland". The coronet is symbolizing Our Lady of Fetal, the local patron saint. The plough is symbolizing agriculture and cultivation of soil by the King's peasants (Portuguese: Reguengeiros.
