Coat of arms

The arms are Gules on a martyrdom grill Argent, superimposed by a bendy pen Or and flanked in chief by two grape bunches Purpure leaved Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading "ARRANHÓ" in black upper case letters.
Meaning:
"Arranhó" is an unclear cognate of "arranhar", "to scratch", so the arms might be thought to be partly punning, but the grill is just for St. Laurence, the patron of the Catholic parish this commune derived from and is conterminous of.
António Martins-Tuválkin, 29 Dec 2010

Flag and arms adopted and published in the official journal Diário da República: III Série on 11 November 1993
