Coat of arms

Shield Purpure, in chief two keys crossed per saltire, one Or the other Argent, both tied Argent, in centre two windmill's wheels roped Argent and rigged Or, in base a doublemount issuant Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "VAQUEIROS - ALCOUTIM".
Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.

Vaqueiros Commune is one of the three communes of Alcoutim Municipality (q.v.); it had 497 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 145.6 km².
