Ostrów Wielskopolski rural district flag
Here is the flag of the commune of Ostrów Wielkopolski, in the county with
the same name, Wielkopolskie vojvodship. It is presented at the communal
website.
Flag description: green, a red fly-diagonal of (c) 1/4 flag-height, Trinidad-style.
Coat of Arms: per fess a) gules a horse iron or; b) checky gules and or, a bull's
head noir naissant crowned or. (is there a name for it?).

Yes there is, in fact there are two established vexillological ways
to describe such a flag recorded in the Dictionary of Vexillology.
The one I prefer is "south-north diagonal" (with the reverse being a "north-south
diagonal"), and the alternative is an "enhanced bend sinister" (with the
reverse being a "bend sinister"). The latter were established by
Znamierowski, but the reason that I prefer the former is that these last
(to my mind) distort the heraldic terms slightly.
