Blazon: I sølv et blått Antonius-kors. In English: Argent a cross of St. Anthony azure
Approved by the crownprince-regent's resolution of 29 June 1990 after a drawing by Arvid Sveen from Vadsø.
The symbolic is rather stightforward: The T is the town's initial, the colour blue refers to the sea. However, the municipal web site provides another explanation as well: the blue shape also stand for Tjeldsund and Ramsund straits connecting the mainland, the Tjeldøya island and part of the Hinnøya island.
