Blazon: I rødt to oppvoksende sølv fyrtårn. In English: Gules two lighthouses argent issuant from the base.
Approved by the royal resolution of 12 December 1986 after a drawing by Thorleif Bredesen. [c2j87]
The design depicts two lighthouses at Torungene in Hisøy, that were lighted first in 1844 to show way to Arendal. In the time prior to blinking lights making difference between various lighthouses - the two were built nearby to differentiate them from other lighthouses in vicinity.
