On 1 January 2018, Hof Municipality was merged with Holmestrand Municipality. Also on 1 January 2020, Sande Municipality was merged with Holmestrand Municipality. After the second merger, the newest Holmestrand Municipality changed the symbols, but it is not yet known how this affects the flag.

Blazon: I rødt tre gull sjøblad, 2-1. English: Gules three water-lily leaves or.
Approved by the royal resolution of 17 July 1992, after a drawing by the Buskerud county conservator Geir Helgen. (cf. http://www.hof.kommune.no/Om-Hof/Kommunevapen/)
The Heraldry of the World  summarises the symbolic explained by the previous link: The three water-lily leaves represent the many small lakes in the municipality.
[Their inner cross-formed shapes] also refer to the three church parishes in the municipality.
