On January 1, 2020 Aurskog-Høland Municipality merged with Rømskog Municipality from Østfold County into the new Aurskog-Høland Municipality. The result of this union is the new symbols for Aurskog-Høland Municipality. In doing so, the new municipality took over the symbols of the now former Rømskog Municipality.

Coat of Arms

Blazon: I blått en opprett sølv tømmersaks. In English: Azure timber scissors argent.
Approved by the royal resolution of 22 July 1983 after a drawing by Truls Nygaard after an idea by Leif Vidar Nilsen. [c2j87]
The design was chosen by the official in Romskog as appropriate for a forestry region - the loggers tongues or timber scissors, a tool that is used to transport logs, gripping the log around the diameter and providing a handle to carry it around.
