Presentation of Sopište

The municipality of Sopište (5,656 inhabitants; 222. 1 sq. km), located south of Skopje, is made of the 13 villages of Barovo, Govrlevo, Gorno Sonje, Dobri Dol, Dolno Sonje, Držilovo, Jabolci, Nova Breznica, Patiška Reka, Rakotnici, Sveta Petka, Sopište, and Čiflik.
Sopište was separated from Kisela Voda in 1996.

The former flag of Sopište (Macedonian Ministry of Local Self-Government website, page no longer online), is vertical, vertically divided, left white with the municipal coat of arms in canton, right a half Macedonian sun (a yellow disk in the center of the flag, therefore overlapping on the white field, five yellow rays and a red background).
