The griffin, a mythological creature half eagle and half lion, symbolizes authority, vigilance, sharpness and power, which protects gold or treasure. Private life, which is a fundamental right of the person, is valued as a treasure, which belongs to every citizen. The griffin represented on the coat of arms of the Center symbolizes the protector of the privacy of the citizens. The disk in the right claw symbolizes personal data that are being protected. The shield with the state coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova, on which the griffin rests with its left claw means that the Center is a public authority.
