Agency for Technical Surveillance

The Agency for Technical Surveillance (Agenția pentru Supraveghere Tehnică) was established by Decision No. 886 issued on 1 November 2017 by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, as the merger of the former State Principal Inspectorate for Technical Surveillance of Dangerous Industrial Objects (Inspectoratului Principal de Stat pentru Supravegherea Tehnică a Obiectelor Industriale Periculoase), State Construction Inspection (Inspecția de Stat în Construcții), Inspectorate of State for Geodetic, Technical and Regime Surveillance (Inspectoratul de Stat pentru Supravegherea Geodezică, Tehnică și Regim).

The Agency for Technical Surveillance appears to have inherited the symbols of the former State Principal Inspectorate for Technical Surveillance of Dangerous Industrial Objects, originally prescribed by Decree No. 177 issued by the Government of the Republic of Moldova on 11 March 2010 and published on 16 March 2010 in the official gazette, No. 36, Article 233.

Agency for Technical Surveillance flag

The flag is composed of a rectangular (2:3) white cloth, with a blue horizontal stripe (0.05 h) placed away (0.1 h) from the flag's upper edge and a red horizontal stripe (0.05 h) placed away (0.1 h) from the flag's lower edge, charged in the center with a shield of rectangular type with rounded-off base featuring the arms of the Inspectorate: on a black field, a miner's sledgehammer and an adjustable spanner crossed in saltire an ensigned by an auroch's head, surrounded between the horns by an eight-pointed star, dexter by a rose and sinister by a contourned crescent, all in yellow, and flanked by two pallets, blue bordered in yellow on the left and red bordered in yellow on the right; on a yellow scroll, the [Latin] motto "HUMANA VITA SUMA RES", "Human life is the most precious thing", in black capitals

The symbols were registered on the Armorial General of the Republic of Moldova by Decision No. 398 issued on 30 September 2015 by the Heraldry National Commission and published on 14 April 2017 in the official gazette, No. 119-126, Article 792.
