Flag

Located in Shibuya City Tokyo and established in 1948. The university flag has dark red background with a white emblem, white circular motto and English university name. The two hearts in the center of the university emblem are symbols of the Sacred Heart of Christ and the Virgin Mary. The heart surrounded by thorns on the left symbolizes the love of Christ who suffered to save people, and the heart pierced by the sword on the right represents the heart of the Virgin Mary who was involved in the work of salvation with Christ. The lilies surrounding the two hearts are a symbol of purity. ubi caritas, ibi deus "Where there is love and affection, there is God" is the motto of the university.
