The town emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 1973 and the flag was adopted on Dec 12th 1994 by Notice No 36. The white flag has a blue town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana よ To of Yonabaru in a form of a flying bird and waves, It represents the town’s reconciliation, peace and solidarity and the exponential development of the industrial culture. The flag proportion is 2: 3.
