Description

Local Council Shave Ziyyon (meaning returners to Zion) is located on the coastline between Acre and Nahariyya. It was established in 1938 and has 850 inh.
Mr. Uri Gefen, Council Archivar wrote me that Shave Ziyyon uses an unofficial flag and sent me a real sample. It is 2:3, with a white emblem and semicircular inscriptions on a blue field.
Sources: letter from Mr. Uri Gefen, Local Council Archivar, 21 August 2001 and municipal flag sample.

The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), YP 631, 30 October 1958.

On October 2003, Local Council of Shave Ziyyon was demoted to Local Committee and incorporated into Regional Council of Matte Asher. This was not part of the 2003 plan but the result of a resolution of a MOTI inquiry committee from 2000 that was upheld at court. The local symbols are either used by the Local Committee or obsolete altogether.
