“I received notification this morning [10 May 2007, jm] that the Minister of Transport has approved a warrant "authorising generally members of Club Powerboat.ie Motorboat Club to fly on their vessels the approved flag in lieu of the National Flag on specified Irish Ships has been approved in accordance with section 10 of the mercantile Marine Act 1955, Formal approval by way of a warrant is enclosed.
It is suggested that the warrant might be suitably framed and displayed on the Club's premises or in your situation, their website" (...)

A special case among Irish yacht and motorboat clubs is Club Powerboat for being entirely virtual: http://www.powerboat.ie/forums. This website has a forum and member section (including blogs), a calendar, a photo gallery, etc. Club Powerboat’s burgee is offered here: http://www.powerboat.ie/forums/index.php?/store/product/4-club-burgee.
“Club Burgees are the small triangular flags also sometimes known as pennants. No particular flag etiquette is associated with or required with Club Burgees. Th[e]y are just [a] nice way of telling other water users what Club you are a member of. Our Club Burgees are a high quality double sided burgee.”
Attachment < ie~cpb.jpg > shows this elaborately designed item: dark blue field, a boat screw seen side-on in the hoist, said screw and name “Club Powerboat.ie” in the fly rendered in a burnished gold colour; evoking the screw’s movement in the water are two meandering lines or sinuses emanating from it, coloured green, then white, then orange - the national colours.
There is a yacht ensign as well.
