Presentation of Poličnik

Poličnik is located 150 km north-east of Zadar. It has 4,664 inhabitants according to the 2001 census, 1,135 in the village of the same name.

Flag of Poličnik

The symbols of Poličnik (municipal website) are prescribed by Decision Odluka o opisu i uporabi grba i zastave općine Poličnik (text), adopted on 28 August 2007 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Poličnik, No. 6.
The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut općine Poličnik (text), adopted on 13 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published in Službeni glasnik Općine Poličnik, No. 6.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, dark blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Gules three plates on a closed book on a bookstand all argent".
The three disks must refer to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of the parish of Poličnik.
