The symbols of Brestovac are prescribed by Decision Odluka o uporabi grba i zastave Općine Brestovac, adopted on 20 December 2004 by the Municipality Assembly and published the same day in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Opčine Brestovac, No. 4. The symbols were approved by the Central State Office for Administration on 2 June 2005.
The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Brestovac (text), adopted on 1 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published in 2009 in Službeni glasnik Opčine Brestovac, No. 7.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag (photo) is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure on a mount vert a tree proper between a crescent argent and a mullet of seven or". The arms are canting since the place name is derived from Croatian brijest, "an elm".
The coat of arms is historical, recorded on the community seal of 1854 and shown in a very similar design in Laszowski's book Grbovi Jugoslavije [lsv39], where it appears for the first time in coloured version.
