The coat of arms is prescribed as "the historical coat of arms of the Town of Opuzen. The coat of arms of the Town of Opuzen is a semicircular shield argent. In the centre of it is a tower with crenellations and with seven (4+3) windows, gules. In the base of the tower is a stylized Neretva trupica azure. The coat of arms of the Town of Opuzen is a stylized version of the historical coat of arms of the Town from the balcony of the Town Hall".
A trupica is a traditional boat used in the Neretva delta, also shown in a different rendition on the County's coat of arms.
