Inuit Ataqatigiit Party

The third-largest party is Inuit Ataqatigiit. Logo at www.ia.gl and www.paamiut.gl. I haven't found any flag for IA yet, but I guess they have flags. IA is left socialist and separatist.
M. Schmöger, 9 July 2004

In the magazime on line of the party (issue 2001, page 1) there were two photos of a red flag with the white logo in canton. Unafortunately the magazime is no more on line. Similar flag was publisehd in Flaggeenmiteilung 104 and identified in issue 109, but the emblem was slighty different (less stylized) and was red within a white disk in a canton of a red flag. I assume that this was a previous version of the same flag.

based on photo and photo

At iserit.greennet.gl there is a photo of a banner thats look like a political one.
Dov Gutterman, 9 July 2004

This is the flag of Siumut party (see logo at www.siumut.gl and www.paamiut.gl). The logo most probably shows the Greenland national flower "niviarsiaq" (Chamaenerion latifolium; Broad-leafed Willow-herb). Siumut is the social-democratic party.
M. Schmöger, 9 July 2004

This is the flag of Siumut or at least is a monocolored flag with the SIUMUT logo That means that a flag published by Vexilologie 25 under caption "Lidove Hnuti Siumut" (monocolored bearing a bear in center), is obsolete, a proposal, or is not from the party.
Jaume Ollé, 9 July 2004

This party is called Siumut (often stylized SIUMUT and pronounced see-ooh-moot), and it's the largest political party in Greenland. Siumut literally means "forward" in English and it is ideologically center-left. Core values include social democracy and sovereignty from Denmark. Since the very beginning of Greenland's home rule, 1979, Siumut has been the dominant party, whose colors are red and gold.

Variant 1
I estimate the flag to have 3:4 dimensions. It has a dark blue background, the Siumut flower(?) in red and white, and the word "SIUMUT" on the bottom in white caps, font unknown, so I used the closest thing I had.

Variant 2
This one's the older-looking one. The background is greyish-blue and the Siumut flower in rust with peanut-colored petals. The petals have rust-colored dots on them. Once again, the bottom reads "SIUMUT", this time in caps but also italicized orange.

Siumut is a social-democratic party in favour of the Greenland independence, created in 1977.
Its first flag (according Vexilologie # 25) had a bear on it (circa 1977).
Later there appeared the one posted here with the logo in red and white (I assume variant 1). Variant 2 must be an earlier or later version. Then the logo was stretched and the blue flag became sky blue with the new logo. Lately I have seen a photo of a white flag with a slighty different logo logo in blue and red colors.
