In 1932 the club was "The Royal Albert Sailing Club", and shortly after it
became the "Royal Albert Bridge Sailing Club". The current name was adopted in
1950, after the Home Office had requested the "Royal" be removed from the name.

"The swallowtail is used by the Flag Officers and on the club flag pole when
events are going on. There is also one on the wall inside the club that I tend
to use as a background (not very successfully) for some photos." Source: Martin
