The sinister half displays the arms of the founder of the college’s predecessor St. Peter’s Hall, Francis James Chavasse, Bishop of Liverpool, who died in 1928, before the school was established in 1929. It attained full college status in 1961. One of the founders twin sons, Bishop Christopher Chavasse, became the 1st Master. His brother Noel Chavasse had been Oxford’s greatest military hero, who is the only one, having gained the Victoria Cross twice in WWI.

The flag is green with ratio 1:2, charged in centre with a white castle with three embattled towers, superimposing a pair of golden keys in saltire. The pattern is the dexter half of the college arms without bordure.
