See also:Tavistock is a market town in west Devon, UK.
An (undated) document
issued by Tavistock Council, titled 'Arrangements for Flying the Flags from the
Town Hall' on Town Hall Letterhead references a Tavistock Town Flag (to be flown
at the Annual Meeting of Tavistock Council and at 'variable' points in the
year).
Curiously, whereas other flags are illustrated* , the 'Tavistock
Town Flag' does not appear. Instead, the document features only the town arms. A
Wikimedia file depicts the Tavistock Town Flag as a flag per bend, white over
blue, defaced by the town arms.
A picture of Tavistock Town Hall features
three flags**. The smaller flag in the middle seems to be the Town Flag, though
curiously this flag is per bend, blue over white. Either two (or more) variants
of the Town Flag are in use or Wikipedia is mistaken.
*including the pre-1707 red ensign of the Royal Navy. An error, I presume.

**The blue and white flag is likely the flag of Tavistock's sister city,
Celle in Germany. The other one looks nothing like
the flag of Tavistock's other sister city (Pontivy, France) though.
